I photographed a wedding at the Washington D.C. Temple on Wednesday. Photographs are not allowed to be taken inside the temple but I took pictures of the couple and the families outdoors afterward. It was Sooo cold but you would never know it because everyone was warm with excitement and love for Katalyn and Casey. It was a wonderful way to end the year. Katalyn and her new husband are ADORABLE! Not to mention both of their families are as sweet as can be. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Happy Marriage!

After some harassment, I mean, positive encouragement, from some of my avid supporters, I am posting pictures from Jill and Kyle’s wedding that was photographed on Saturday. I have to say that this post is part one because there are some fun shots I will still need to post from the reception. Saturday was a perfect day to capture the beauty and love of Jill and Kyle. Jill, Kyle, and their family and friends were amazing to work with! Stephanie and I truly enjoyed capturing their special day. I know that Jill and Kyle are having a fantastic time on their honeymoon! I hope this week goes by slowly and they enjoy every minute of it.

I had the pleasure of photographing Angie and Steve’s wedding yesterday. They are such a cute couple. Angie said that yesterday was the happiest day of her life! She just beamed from ear to ear. It was beautiful! Seeing them together just melts your heart.

Thank you Angie and Steve for choosing me to photograph the happiest day of your lives. I wish you many more happy days together!

Kim and Paul got married last Saturday on a beautiful, sunny, fall day. With all of the rain we have had we were worried about it raining, but the day turned out to be absolutely beautiful. Kim and Paul are wonderful people with wonderful friends and family. Capturing their day was so much fun. Stephanie (my second shooter) and I were so blessed to be apart of this couples wedding day.

Last but not least, sweet little Colby. This is right before he pulled his flower off his tux and ate it. He just makes me smile.

Where do I begin! I have know Ellie for about 5 years. Ellie and Joel have been together since high school ( I have a special place in my heart for high school sweethearts ). Their wedding day was a beautiful celebration of their love. The weather was perfect, the location was perfect, and every detail of their wedding, you guessed it, was PERFECT! I could go on and on as to how beautiful everything and everyone was. I have to take a moment to say how wonderful both of their families were. You can tell that they love Ellie and Joel so much. They were all wonderful to work with. Now on to what everyone is here for, the pictures.

It was a pleasure being a part of Ellie and Joel’s wedding day. I wish them the best as they continue sharing their lives together!

When I shoot weddings, I usually get to know the brides pretty well which is always fun. But I especially enjoyed this wedding because I knew the groom first and got to get to know his beautiful bride too. It was a gorgeous day which was just the icing on the cake for this adorable couple. Seeing the two of them together made me want to go home and kiss my husband. Love is a beautiful thing!

I’m sure that is not what Erika and Bill expected when they planned their April wedding but it was a beautiful day just the same (see http://photographybyshelane.com/2009/03/08/ahhh-spring/ for engagement pictures). Erika was georgeous!!

There are so many reasons why I choose to photograph weddings, but I think one of the best things about it is getting to meet wonderful people. Jessica and Jim are no exception. Here are just a few of my favorites from their beautiful wedding.

Jessica and Jim are big sports fans so they decided to have their reception at the Sports Legends At Camden Yards Museum. We got a few pictures outside the Orioles stadium before it got too dark and I especially love the one of them kissing over the 8 for November 8th 2008. This was the best themed wedding I have ever been to. Here are a few from the reception.
